Exam target<\/strong><\/p>

The exam \u00d6SD Zertifikat C1 certifies a candidate\u2019s ability to communicate in different professional and social situations dealing with more complex contexts.<\/p>

This exam certifies language competence characterized by a high degree of accuracy, correctness and situation-specific appropriateness.<\/p>

\u00d6SD Zertifikat C1 is particularly aimed at people learning German wishing to study at a German-speaking university and directed at learners aged 16 and over. The additional altered version is tailored to young learners aged 14 and above.<\/p>

The exam comprises two modules, the Written exam (Reading, Listening and Writing) and the Oral exam (Speaking).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Reading<\/strong><\/p>

Comprehension of various authentic texts from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland in terms of their overall meaning and individual content is assessed through four tasks.<\/p>

Writing<\/strong><\/p>

Listening<\/strong><\/p>

Global, detailed, and selective comprehension is assessed in two tasks using standard-spoken authentic audio texts from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, covering general and sociocultural topics.<\/p>

Speaking<\/strong><\/p>

The oral examination consists of three tasks: a telephone conversation, a discussion, and a short presentation. The examination conversation is assessed according to established criteria (see evaluation sheet<\/a>).<\/p>

Exam administration<\/strong><\/p>\nThe exam \u00d6SD Zertifikat C1 comprises two modules: the Written exam (Reading, Listening and Writing) and the Oral exam (Speaking). These modules can be sat and certified individually or taken in combination. Candidates who have taken and passed one module will receive a single copy of a certificate for the module taken. If both modules were successfully completed within a year, at the same exam centre, candidates will be entitled to receive a single copy of a full certificate listing all completed modules.\n\nThe exam will be carried out by two licensed \u00d6SD examiners who subsequently mark the candidate\u2019s performance (see evaluation sheet<\/a>). By request, an inspection of the rating sheet is possible.
